In our final year, all of the grads were tasked with marketing the IDEA Grad Show to the existing design community in Vancouver. IDEA already has a reputation for producing competent, work-ready graduates, but art directors – and designers in general – are incredibly busy. How to convince them that we’re worthwhile?

 My concept was a simplified Meyers-Briggs style test that matches the target with a graduate, based on a few easy-to-answer, but relevant questions. Every grad becomes an ‘archetype’: The Dreamer, The Architect, The Historian, etc.

 The challenge was to find questions that are relevant in a design work environment, and don’t place positive or negative connotations on either answer, while still meaningfully separating the class.
